Smashed - Let's Get Sketchy week 5

Hi there

Here is YOUR 5th week
inspiration
at
Inspiration Photo week 5
Fab colours!!  As soon as I saw this photo, I knew exactly what I was going to do!!
Here is my creation:
Smashed
This picture was taken en-route home from my sons 4th BIRTHday party.
His Brother got him the "Hulk-SMASH-Hands" LoL
He was "SMASHED"
In my stash, I had MME ABBEY ROAD - perfect colour for the Hulk.
Along with some black card stock and CtmH Superhero,
a lil'machine stitching (in green), washi tape
and my citrus acrylic dabber,
pulled this LO together.
 Of course, a DIY embellishment
I used my chalk pen to add dots to the 4, along the photo and letters
(sure it's time consuming - but when you love what you do
and do what you love...)
so worth it - right?!
These buttons added to his dream of
"becoming a REAL Superhero"
If he only knew....
 HE IS MY SUPERHERO

ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday - Lettuce Turnip the Beet

Hi there

it's FRIDAY
of a Looong weekend
(well...kinda,  really Canada Day is Tuesday...)
But it's FRIDAY
and
Design Team B
is up to inspire YOU
with this great sketch
Sketch-y Friday
Here is my take:
Lettuce Turnip the Beet
Hehehe!!  He's the cutest kid... really!
Every year, we grow our own garden and last he grew
his Sunny (sunflower)  and green peppers.
He asked if he could enter them into the Fall Fair...
Lettuce turnip the Beet
my Boy wins!!
I had to use a cute title...
Look at that cute face!!
A few ribbons and little moola
and he is a goofy dancin' machine.
I had the $$$ rub-on waiting for this LO
and added FP sticker date on the deck.

These tags,  are the original Entry tags from his veggies
and I had to include his money envelope - I had kept it!!
A little yellow floss stitching, really popped my corners.

I am really happy the way it turned out and excited he's
encouraged to grow his own veggies again this year!

woody - Fancy Pants Design - June Sketch

Hi there

over at
shared this awesome sketch
June Sketch
 here is my take:
woody
This photo was given to me by my sons daycare provider!
There wasn't a day that went by, where he didn't
dress up.... as someone
This was his Toy Story "phase" LoL
I created using the "so swagger" collection but mixed
in a few pieces of Down by the Shore.
I chose AC felt letters (just perfect texture for this cowboy!)
accenting with the "stylin" arrow
I wrapped the photo using baker's twine to create a lasso effect
and embossed using my chevron folder.
Man oh Man.
He's just the CUTEST cowboy ever!!
(FP rub-ons)
Some machine stitching and layered card stock
with So Swagger tape stickers
and more rub-ons (altered)
The middle sticker reads:
YOU CANNOT TEACH
A MAN ANYTHING;
YOU CAN ONLY HELP
HIM DISCOVER
IT IN HIMSELF.
- GAULEO

I love love love this layout
what an AWESOME

( = photo op)
here is my take:
now   then
LOOK how we've changed...all GROWed up!
It was a "no-brainer" to use MME now and then collection
 - so fitting!
I embossed the tags - keeping with the polka-dot theme
and TH masked MS white texture effect

Maya Road plastic velum letters - stitched down.
I love how clean and simple this layout
turned out.
I fussy cut the banner and stitched the ribbon.
Ta da!  That's it!
I can't until my lil'sister sees this one

Two Scrapbook Friends - June Challenge: Warthog

Hi there

I was surfing around and found
this great sketch /craft
over at
So FUN... a sketch challenge with a crafty challenge
June Sketch and Crafty Challenge
here is my take:
Warthog
I had to do something special with this Christmas card and envelope.
As soon as I saw this challenge,
I knew -  this was what I needed to do!
How often does a Girl receive a Christmas card from AFRICA?
{ This is my FIRST!! }
( *note I covered our address for Blog world )
I chose to create using the Studio Callico collection - the colouring was bang-on!!
the title: very fitting using Memo thickers (altered)
Our friends, sent us this card
 'Animals of Africa'
Warthog
by Rozanne Tunmer
 - we received it January 16th, 2014
( LUCKY us!  To receive any mail from Africa)
I kept it simple with a few layers, adding some MS white texture effect, machine stitching
and acrylic paint.
I collect stamps but these two will look great in an album.
I am so happy the way this layout turned out!
We miss our friends and think of them often.

Amanda, thank you for sharing this sketch /craft
my hubby is so happy to put the "last Christmas card" away!!! LoL

YOU should hop over and check out the June challenge too

Let's Get Sketchy - WEEK 3 Team A - Pucker Powder

Hi there

 I  am sharing my
Week 3
Team A
Design Team REVEAL
It's Laura's great sketch this week:
LGS week 3
and here is my take:
Pucker Powder
If you have ever tried pucker powder, you too ARE BRAVE!!! My hubby and I tried it and
"it's for the" kiddos!!! LoL
A lil'BO BUNNY and DIY dots (glossy accents + matte nail polish)
help create this "SOUR" layout.
The background started out clean white...
it got messy with Mister Huey's, some machine stitching and ink.
A perfect Dreamy cut file title - a little exaggerated!!
{*take a close-look at his watering eyes}
A loopy banner, baker's twine and a SPLAT
I created a cut file to mimic a tube of pucker powder.
All complete, with Doodle Garden Flock, and a red cap.

This is a simple layout.
Lots of layers, with some Fancy Pants corrugated paper.
A lot of the little details.
Silly... how much time these "simple" layouts take - HA!

In the end I love how I captured "his moment"

2TC78 (Twisted Tuesday) + LESSology #37 - Chickee

Hi there

I found a new challenge to try

THE CHALLENGE

Include at least 2 animals on your creation

THE TWIST

Include spots or polka dots on your creation

I also added
Animal Kingdom

My niece, Cora just graduated from
Fanshawe College
and I just had to create this card for her:
Chickee
I had to make 3 chicks - she is the eldest, of three children. Cora is the only girl and the fancy one!!
Look at that chick! Complete with a googly eye, lashes a double bow and crushed velvet flock hair!
Great border right!?  It is the backing of my sticker border that I up-cycled.  It looks great against the washi tape that I embossed with dots. Embossing distressed the washi tape (while photographing the card, I had to get the angle just right to show you the details)  Of course, I HAD to stitch my card (did I mention I love stitching) Even my ribbon kept with the dot-theme.
you DID it!!
Cora you DID IT!!
She did it!  I am so proud of you all you have accomplished, you will reap all your hard work and determination - Stand Proud Bella xo
I can't wait to celebrate with her later today.

You should hop on over and give yourself the challenge
you still have time.

OK!!  I have to run and give Bella her card before she sees it
here, in Blog world.

ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday TEAM B - When in Rome

Hi there

TGIF!!
and that means a
Team B REVEAL
is up to inspire YOU
with a
NEW SKETCH
at
Sketch-y Friday  TEAM B - Week 2
here is my REVEAL:
When in Rome
I love these photos!  I have always wanted to do something special with them.
(But of course I had to wait for Laura to share her sketch )
This is my YELLOW LEATHER jacket - I absolutely love it!
(you know the one you love but NEVER wear - so you don't ruin it)

I had a TON of fun with this layout.
From cut files, to Gesso, some stitching, cork and flowers.
When in Rome, I did all the tourist hot-spots
I should live there! - I could be... Italian *wink wink
I live all my trips as though it was "my first and LAST time"
this way when I leave, I have NO regrets.

For my DIY embellishment I used a map cut file of Rome
with Bazzil paper flower, MME brad and denim twine.
(Then strung a few more to create a banner)
to add to my vintage theme
I used Basic Grey newsprint, cut it, distressed it, inked and made sure it
pointed towards my photos.
I used denim thread on top of the Gesso
along with my TH distresser
 ~ SO VINTAGE

I can't wait to see YOUR take on this sketch

Happy Camper: ScrapMuch Colour Challenge + Stuck?! Sketches

Hi There

I had these camping pictures,
screaming to be played with!
It was rainy and cold
and hubby IS wearing his warm grey hoodie
this colour challenge was perfect!
along with
(and I've had my eye on it since June 1st)
Stuck?!
I had 3 photos that just HAD to be in this layout!
Here is my take:
Happy Camper
I played around with cut files and some Mister Huey's
( = messy FUN! )
I mixed in some pink paislee stickers and OA metal badge
Half of my background is misted with some flower cut files,
the other half I used the misted flowers as stamps
and "flicked" mist (technical term LoL)
I love the effect!
We had decided to go camping May 2-4 weekend (2013)
[ did I mention "I am new to this world" ]
in a tent!!!
We chose Pog Lake in Algonqin Provincial Park
( it's our "backyard" )
It was SO COLD and then it rained!!
WE CALLED it!  Enough!
It didn't phase my son
my
Happy Camper
...OMG!  Look at hubby's face *giggle giggle

Scrappy FUN Crop at Casa Ramirez

Hi there

What a FANTASTIC
Scrappy Day
had by all.
A lot of creativity flowing at Casa Ramirez
The GIRLS
Happy GIRLS  - with Loot!!!
We missed our friend Paulette but "BERNINA" happily took her spot
but no one used her :(
( I personally LOVE stitching my layouts)

June Ann made 17 cards
Ronna finished 4 kit layouts (of course with her own take)
Joey made 2 cards + finished 6 layouts
Nancy (aka Mom) finished 10 layouts
please note the Hostess was entertaining and enjoying Sangria's
lunch + Sangria
NOW....how did that get in there *wink wink
Birthday card + BOBUNNY Trinket
ScrapMuch? spoiled us ALL with these goregous Trinkets "Treats"
- Joey was the first to make a card using one.
Bernina
She (Bernina) didn't get much of a "spot" as the creative juices were
OVER FLOWING - everywhere HA!

I am so lucky to be surrounded by these
beautiful, talented women who share my passion.
It was a ton of FUN
I love playing HOSTESS
( once a year deal )
{otherwise I'd never get in any real scrappy time} LoL
