Pout like U mean it !!

Hi There!

Today, rings in the last day of April...
can you believe it???
April was JAMMED pack with very exciting news for me.
Tomorrow is the start of my new DT journey [ so exciting ! ]

I have one last LO to share with you for the month of APRIL
Pout like U mean it !
Isn't this just the sweetest picture !!  I know he's balling but still, how darn CUTE!

I created this LO using:  MME; Alphabet soup; boy "Twinkle Twinkle", craft paper,  cardstock,
Mister Huey's Heirloom blue mist and baker's twine.

Foam Thickers; Wonder matched with this colour scheme
I accented the collection with brown cardstock - now it really pops

This sweet little elephant along with baker's twine and half crystals
balance the left side.

This is one of my favorite lines from MME ( I'm a fan )
I love that I can take a heartfelt photo and make it sweet.

Happy - ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday

Hi there

Today, would have been my maternal grandfather's
95th BIRTHday
I miss him, and would give anything to hear one of his stories - just one more time.
( I remember hearing his stories...
and thinking I've heard this for the millionth time )
I found this picture of my grandparents taken in 1991
and ScrapMuch? shared this sketch:
- if you haven't played along, you still have a few more hours!
Sketch-y Friday April 25
here is my take:
happy

I created using Bo Bunny; Back to Basics, patterned paper, cardstock, snow white acrylic,
and mocha mama ink.
MME; Perfectly Lovely tag with metal brads and veneer wood heart.

My DIY embellishments are Thickers; Regards,
aqua stitching with a metal dragonfly, MME wooden and chip buttons, & craft paper doilie.

I created a ribbon verse with white cardstock, Mister Huey's Heirloom Blue mist,
daisyd's Rub-on verse and metal accent dragonfly

onto the things you love, the
things you are, and the things
you never want to lose.

lil'Miss - ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday April 18

Hi there

Today is my nieces BIRTHday and in honour of her day, I thought
I should do a layout of her.
I found these sweet photos, taken back in 1993.
Courtney was wearing the cutest lil'outfit

I found another great sketch-y Friday over at ScrapMuch?
If you haven't played along, there is still time!
Sketch-y Friday
Here is my take:
lil'Miss

I created using cardstock, patterned paper and velum (for my first time)
I did a lot of stitching (with the Pfaff - what a machine! )
added in a zipper and DIY zipper flower
A paper doilie and velum along with some silhouette cut files,
LYB wood signs, wood veneer arrow
To balance this LO, I used MME wooden button, journal tag,
wooden peg and the other half of the zipper
so FUN!
I remember, we had a lot of FUN that day at the park, then she fell and her
"hand DIRTY" Dantie
(Courtney nicknamed me that - Auntie Danie backwards HA! )

This layout CHALLENGED me!!
I had it in my head what it needed to look like...
executing was more challenging.
(the photograph of this LO appears to show different tones of yellow
but in fact they all match - even MME
wooden button {it photographed orange?}

 - it really is quite pretty!

HaPpy BIRTHday Courtney
I remember the day you were born

*sing* Hands up Baby

Hi there

I was going through my stash of photos and found this old one of my niece.
I just had to do something fun with it - she's so cute!
I chose to use song lyrics as my title.
Hands up Baby
I created this LO with Simple Stories; Daily Grind Collection and cardstock.
I found this cute little bug (unknown) in my stash, pop dotted and a little star dust Stickles.

I used orange bakers twine to loop the title using indie bloom stickers along with
TH Music Note Clip along and my music note hand punch
- so sweet

Of course no LO of mine, is complete without using liquid glass (glossy accents)
it adds dimension and accents parts of my LO

This is a fun collection to work with and I'm looking forward
to work with it again

life is GOOD - Creative Embellishments April Challenge

Hi there

Happy FRIDAY!!!
There was a lot of love and meaning while creating this layout.
I was inspired with this fun challenge over at
April Challenge
The photo inspired me to celebrate, here is my take:

life is GOOD
In April, (April 25th) my hubby and I celebrate our wedding anniversary.
This year, tradition has us all about wood.
We were challenged to use 4 items from the list of 10. I went with:  mist /paint, a flourish, handmade flower, embossing and baker's twine.

I chose Studio Calico; Yearbook Collection (how fitting!) as my background.
I spritzed it with copper sheer shimmer and inked with bark ink.
I accented our photo with a heart lace doilie
I handmade the flower using MME paper, hand punch, embossing folder,
MME decorative brad (centre) along with LYB stick pins; wood words
romantic - right!?

I love wood flourishes - that is my last one! So, if I win, I know exactly what I'd like to order *wink
~ just sayin'
In my stash, I had this MME Citron "Party" Wood Frame
...just perfect for this LO. A little bark ink, and I accented the frame
with brown bakers twine, Thickers; Jewelry Box, and this lil'set of key-ring
I accented the number 5

I faux stitched it and created a sign;
side by side
year by year
I had to add a rub-on (a fav right now) and a mini-wooden word
happy Anniversary
ha!
all in my stash.

I love how this LO came together, keeping our love pure and our picture romantic.
This LO is going in a frame and hanging on our wall (today)
~ this is kinda a BIG deal (we don't hang portraits?!)

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Babe

I WOOD
do it all over again!
you are the love of my life

Smarty Pants - LCOM #67 + a Surprise

Hi there

I had this silly picture, I needed the perfect sketch to bring it to life.
Look at Sketch #67 over at Let's Capture Our Memories
by the sweet and VERY talented Laura Whitaker
Sketch #67
and here is my take:
Smarty Pants
There is a mix-ology of supplies here.
I chose to use crate paper; Toy Box Collection} Library as my back ground, very appropriate for documenting my son's "phases"!
with some mama mocha ink, white + cherry red acrylic,
jillibean soup corrugated shapes, Chip Board Thickers; Prancer, along with LYB Burlap stickers.

I love texture and layers.
I altered the LYB burlap sticker to a tag with my crop-a-dile and twine.
I applied the acrylic quite heavy to add some dimension.

I altered these burlap stickers with ink and cut them to create a boarder.
I'm lovin' the burlap!!

My journal:  Every night before you fall asleep, you like to STUFF
your jammie pants FULL!   LoL
You use your stuffies, blankies, Mama Monkey, your mini-flashlights
(all while you're wearing them!)
...to keep warm!!
- it's just a phase, SILLY xo

My silly son and this silly picture work well with this sketch.

PLUS
The surprise reveal

I created:
So Sweet
Any one who knows me, knows I LOVE CHEVRONs!!
 It's all about the CHEVRONs
I just had to buy the chevron punch from Stampin'up...look what I can do NOW!!!

I used patterned paper with my chalk pen (faux stitching), MS pink dahlia ink,
my chevron punch, TH tiny attacher, floss
Gabbie Maude Asbury 3-D stickers stickles and a gem.
Very simple and in my favorite colour!!

My dear client loved this card, I made for her.

I [heart] SPRING~ter?! - Boys Rule

Hi there

Today, I am playing along with a fantastic sketch by Lynn (her very first)
Boys Rule Sketch

Here is my take:

I [heart] SPRING~ter?!
I created using the Echo Park; Happy Easter Collection and stickers.  I kept this collection for the perfect Spring day photo op and of course Muskoka gave us one
 - a SNOW DAY in April!?  Ha!
The coordinating cardstock along with knock outs edge punch, my cuttlebug and
Gum Leaf ink, pulls this sweet  LO together.
I used the K&Company SMASH Stamp* - stamping the date 3 times Oh Snap
Can you believe it..(Mother Nature gave us) a SNOW DAY April 15th, 2014!
Only in Muskoka
Buses were cancelled and the roads were a mess.
That didn't stop us from making the best of the day and a perfect photo op
wooden veneer (altered to match) and enamel dots (my fav!) but a little BLING
to our already crazy Spring day?!

What are you doing May 3rd??

hors 'N around ~ ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday

Hi there

While I was going through a box of random things,
I found these 3 photos of my cousin Julie and I.
Julie lives in Calgary and one summer (circa 1989) we met up at our grandparents home in
Kirkfield, Ontario. They took us horseback riding.
 ScrapMuch? had this great sketch:
Sketch-y Friday April 11
here is my take:

hors 'N around
I created using the BasicGrey; hipster radical hip collection.  What a  rad collection!
Mixed in with some cardstock, silhouette cut files, brads, stitching (on the Phaff again), antique white acrylic, mama mocha ink and some lace fringe, pulls this layout together.

close up
I broke one of my #1 rules....never alter or cut a picture you can't reproduce!
Chomp, cut, paint...
 Ha! I had too!
These pictures are over-exposed and had the famous finger in every corner
(something Gramma was famous for  -  LoL)
I still love these photos, Julie and I had a lot of fun that day.
Adding the "Hipster" chipboard stickers with a brad, ink and pop dots
ta-da..it works!

I like it. It really works for this sketch.

This is my first official post as ScrapMuch? DT member

The Nutcracker

Hi there!

Here's another throwback...all the way to 1994!  When I was at my scrappy weekend away
with ScrapMuch? they offered a bonus sketch (I liked it so much I did it again!)
Retreat Bonus Sketch
I also played along with Frosted Designs Friday challenge:  handwriting + inks
Here is what I created:
The Nutcracker
I created with graphic 45; Nutcracker Sweet Collection and cardstock. I inked and
( TH ) distressed the edges, hand-drew a faux stitch line around the LO
than inked and painted with Mr. Huey's mist.

For the title, I used EK handwritten foam letters. The embellies are
DIY (fussy cut from collection),
along with TH mask and white texture effect.
My journal card is handwritten and a silhouette print file
(hand drawn) and one over sized button brings this
sweet LO together.

Look how young my sisters and I...oh the 90's
*giggle giggle

Paper Issues: Pitch Perfect + Stuck?! Sketch Oct 15,2013 (archive)

Hi there!

I created along with Paper Issues: Pitch Perfect Challenge
- what a fun challenge!!
My favorite musical, is when my Bestie pulls out every pot, pan and lid,
than strums away on his guitar like a pro. *she laughs!
He is very amusing and quite the musician.
I was perusing the Stuck?! Sketches Blog.
I found an oldie but a good one, on the Stuck?! Sketches archive OCT 15, 2013
Oct 15,2013
...and I created:
One "Boy" Band

Cardstock and a silhouette cut file sets the background for this fun layout.
(pinkpaislee; prairie hill collection)

DIY embellies with a TH music note clip and white texture effect music notes add just enough character.

the 3D sticker (from my stash) completed these three photos
creating our very own, personal
One "Boy" Band

He never seizes to amaze us and is so creative, yet entertaining!

Stuck?! April 15 - my gramma

Hi There

This past weekend I was given a rare picture of my maternal gramma and I
(we have loads of photos but usually in a group)  I knew I had to do something with it,  than this amazing sketch was posted by Laura Whitaker over at Stuck?! and  I knew what to do:
April 15
and I created:

my gramma
I used MME; Stella and Rose; Hattie "Boy" woven stripe paper (I kept it for a special layout).
I won these Jolee's Boutique; grey burlap flowers and knew these would add to this picture ~ Gramma would have LOVED them!  My Tim Holtz mask with metallic pearl white acrylic, added the
perfect elegance I wanted to achieve.

Photographing this layout, I required a lot of sun to pick up the tulle doilie I used
( This layout needs to viewed up close and personal!!)

MME Nostalgia decorative brads, stampin'up heart punch and doilie along with the burlap flowers are
very elegant ~ just the way gramma would like it!
I miss her so

Stuck?! April 1 and LESSology Challenge #35; Tic Tag Toe

Hi there

I am playing along with two different challenges on this one layout.
First, is the sketch challenge based on a sketch with Laura over at Stuck?! Sketches,
- you should play along too!
The second is with LESSology  Challenge #35: Tic Tag Toe; tag creativity!  So fun!
Stuck?! April 1
here is my take:
Snow much FUN
Supplies:  Hollo's Paper Craft-Kraft; midnight blue, MME Stella Rose, cardstock, Fancy Pants, "collecting Moments" envelope, leather tag (upcycled), ink; midnight muse, MS edge punch, snowflake hand punch, corner punch, foam snowflakes x2(upcycled), silver eyelets, ribbon, Recollection; snowflake stickers, Bisous stickers, Foam Thickers, and Stickles.

I am going to apologize for crafting snow pictures ( yep, I did it! ) although, I truly am ready for Spring!!
But these pictures were taken during Spring break!!

I upcycled the leather tag from my family's furniture business.  They're no longer dealing with that company and wasn't sure what to do with the samples...of course I knew exactly what to do :-D  The Italian leather adds texture to my layout and accents the envelope tag perfectly.
I also upcycled the 2 blue foam snowflakes from my sons craft he brought home (they fell off his artwork) so I put them to good use.

A close up of this title.  Altered stickers and Thickers, brings this layout together.

SNOW much FUN
